Studio Schafrath

Websites and working tools for hospitality and design-led businesses.

I’m Christopher Schafrath. I design and build the parts of a client experience that happen before anyone talks to you: the page that explains your offer, the inquiry form, and the handoff to whoever picks it up.

First project

Start with one client journey.

It might be a private-event inquiry, the information you chase before a design project can start, or a page that should explain your offer and doesn’t quite. We pick whichever is causing the most friction, and I design it through to handoff.

What you receive
First, a short written brief covering who the journey is for, what it needs to collect, and which decisions should stay with a person. Then the copy and interface, designed together. You end up with a prototype you can click through (reviewed against criteria we agree at the start), the source files, and a note on what a live version would need.
How it starts
Send a link to your business and a few sentences about what you want to change. You don’t need a finished brief. I’ll write back with my read on whether it’s a fit, and the questions I’d need answered to scope it.
Fee
Scope and fee agreed in writing before work begins. Connecting it to your live inbox, booking system or CRM is written into that scope when you need it.

Work

When the brief disagrees with itself.

A web form, a follow-up email and a site worksheet arrive for the same kitchen remodel. They disagree on budget and scope, and none of them has a phone number. Client Intake Operator merges them into one record, shows each conflict beside its source, and keeps approval locked until a person settles every one.

Intake screen for a kitchen remodel. Source documents sit beside a normalized record that marks the phone as missing and flags conflicts on scope and budget, with approval disabled.
Demonstration with synthetic remodeling records. Not connected to a live inbox or CRM.

I’m also designing HELM, an internal tool that keeps a decision, the records behind it and the next step in one place. It’s built with AI coding agents working to my direction. A walkthrough is in preparation.

About

Christopher Schafrath

I’ve spent years on restaurant floors in Seattle, managing service at Beast & Cleaver, The Fat Hen and Little Beast. A lot of that job is handoffs: kitchen to floor, a guest’s question to the person who can actually answer it. Most of what I build now sits in the same spot, the gap between someone’s first message and your reply.
